| Dan Dares & Rob's run outMonday, 29 September 2008 Daniel Brown makes the grade with Robert Brown close behindRace date: 18-19-20th September - Silverstone (GP)Race one After managing to avoid the first corner collision ahead of him, Robert had a strong performance gradually making up positions and bringing down his lap times to finish in 13th place, winning the Signs & Graphics Trophy for making up the most positions from start to finish. Daniel made up 3 places into first corner, then had a race long battle with William Zollo, exchanging places throughout the race, which culminated with them going across the line side-by-side, Zollo grabbed 8th place by 0.031s. Daniel went on to win the Performance Friction Cup for highest placed rookie finish.
Race two Daniel gained 2 places on lap one then had a steady race not quite able to find the pace of race one, but he did have a good battle with Adam Foster, a fellow rookie driver all they way to the chequered flag finishing in 10th place. “I’ve really enjoyed this year” quoted Daniel “8th place in the Championship is better than I had envisaged at the beginning of this season” Robert was also having an intense battle of his own when a very over optimistic move on lap 3 by a fellow competitor, ended in a collision braking Rob’s rear left wishbone leaving the car in an un-driveable condition. “This was a frustrating way to end the Championship” commented Robert, “But I have learned so much competing in FPA, I hope I can make use of this in my future racing career”
